about me
I am Sreya Aluri, an international student at the University of Richmond. I am a rising senior and I intend to graduate in May of 2022 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Physics. You can contact me via email.
about my mentor
I worked on this research project under the guidance of Dr. Zhe Jiang, Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Alabama, whose research area is interdisciplinary artificial intelligence. To know more about Dr. Jiang you can visit his website.
research overview
Accurate and detailed cartographic representations of hydrologic streamlines are critical in various scientific domains, such as assessing the quantity and quality of present and future water resources, modeling climate changes, evaluating agricultural suitability, mapping flood inundation, and monitoring environmental changes. My research pertains to training and testing a convolutional neural network that can be used for the detection of fine-scale hydrological streamlines.
